Paleo Orange Chicken



Enjoy this delicious and healthier version of Orange Chicken, perfect for those following a Paleo or Whole30 diet. The orange sauce is sweet, tangy, and bursting with flavor, making it a family-friendly dish that everyone will love.

Ingredients:

  • 5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup arrowroot powder
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup orange juice freshly squeezed
  • 1/4 cup coconut aminos
  • 3 tablespoons honey or replace with date paste for Whole30
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish optional

Instructions:

Coat the chicken pieces thoroughly in arrowroot powder by tossing them in a bowl

In a big skillet over medium-high heat, warm the coconut oil

Cook the coated chicken pieces in the skillet for 5 to 7 minutes on each side, or until they are crispy and browned

Take out of the skillet and place aside

Orange juice, coconut aminos, honey or date paste, grated ginger, minced garlic, and orange zest should all be added to the same skillet

Give it a good stir and simmer

The sauce will thicken after simmering for five to seven minutes on low heat

Coat the cooked chicken pieces in the orange sauce and return them to the skillet

Cook the chicken for a further two to three minutes, or until it is thoroughly cooked and covered with sauce

To taste, add salt and pepper for seasoning

If desired, top the hot Paleo Orange Chicken with sliced green onions and sesame seeds
